Dr. Sydney graduated from University of Maryland Dental School in 1975 and completed his residency in periodontics (gum disease and dental implants) in 1979 from Emory University. He has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years and has performed more than 25,000 advanced periodontal and implant procedures.

Appointments and Awards
Dr. Sydney achieved the specialists' highest award in the United States, Diplomate, American Board of Periodontology and he is the only dentist in Israel to have earned the prestigious title of Fellow in both the American and International Colleges of Dentists honorary societies (a recognition bestowed on only 12 dentists worldwide).
Dr. Sydney is Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland, and Senior Physician at Tel Aviv University, where he began teaching in 1985 and continues to instruct in the Post-Praduate program of Periodontology. Dr. Sydney was the first Director of a Periodontal Medicine Unit in Israel at Meir hospital.
Service and Publications
Professor Sydney has served on committees of many dental organizations, including the Maryland Association of Periodontists as President, the Israel Board of Periodontics, The Israel Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Sydney's articles have appeared in the leading dental journals including the Journal of Periodontology and the Journal of the American Dental Association. To the public, Dr. Sydney is best known as the author of the popular dental consumer book "The Patient's Guide To Gum Disease and Dental Implants", a complimentary copy is available to all our patients.

Dr. Sydney regularly shares his knowledge with colleagues throughout the world. His presentations at major dental meetings have included most recently Israel, the United States, France, Norway, England, Latvia, and Italy.
